Biography of Dr. Roberta Karant
Roberta Karant received her doctorate from Stony Brook University in 1993. She has over 20 years experience as an educator teaching on the university level at Stony Brook. She was a lecturer in the Sociology Department, Women's Studies Department, and at The School of Social Welfare.
During the years 1995 through 2001, at Stony Brook she held the position of Faculty Director of the Living Learning Center for Human Sexuality and Gender Development. Her teaching credits also include the role as facilitator for Cornell University's Family Development Credentialing Program during the years 1996 through 2008 in Suffolk County.
In addition, for almost 20 years she held the position of a social work administrator for a family serving social work agency where she also performed psychotherapy with clients.
